The symptoms occur when I both enable and disable legacy boot in the BIOS. I have disabled secure boot and quickboot on my computer. I have successfully installed PCLOS with myliveusb and UEFI. I have noticed what a big help everyone on the forums are and I am in need of some assistance. I am new to the forum, I have been lurking for a few weeks while attempting to get PCLOS KDE5 set up on my laptop. I am assuming SDDM uses different drivers? I verified the latest drivers were installed as well. It was not listed when entering xinput -l and the drivers were not being detected when I attempted xinput set-prop # "Device Enabled" 1, nothing changed. The synaptics touchpad was not being detected. This brought me to my next problem I was having, which I was planning to bring up in a new post once this issue was solved. black screen! I rebooted, and held the Enter key to get it to boot. I then changed the display manager from SDDM to GDM to see if it would work. I booted with the 4.20 kernel successfully. My computer was set up for the the SDDM Display Manager. I updated to kernel-4.20.4-pclos1 from kernel-4.16.3-pclos1 (installed on the live usb). It turns out I needed a kernel update after booting into the HD.
